What a landslide election brings to you:
ENMAX are pushing the envelope again. Following on EPCOR success in charging for unheard of extra charges and getting away with it, ENMAX have put the following rider on their web site.
“Please note the rates above do not include transmission, distribution, administration, local access fees, GST or other charges. As a result, the cost of the "delivered" energy would be higher. Typically, these costs make up an additional 40 to 50 per cent of the energy charges for the average residential single family dwelling.”
The 5 year price is stated at .08 per kwh while the price for transmission is 2.1 cents per kwh (Fortis)
This brings your delivered cost up to 10.1 cents per KWH.
An average home will consume 800 kwh per month. The price of electricity delivered should be then 80.00
Yet, ENMAX are leaving the door open to charge you an additional 40 to 50% on top of this with no explications.
To make atomic power “affordable” in this province, the prices of electricity has to be put up to about .17 or .18 per kwh to make the Bruce reactors profitable. Perhaps this 40 and 50 percent added charges will be done away with at some point and replaced with a “new, easy” rate of .17 per kwh?
Some deal we are getting from this Government and in this case, the City of Calgary!
